EVALUATION & REFLECTION

The Radio Advert, TV Advertisement and Cinemagraph all appeal to their target audience of people aged 16 - 18 that want to study a media course. Each of the three advertisements contain the key information about the UAL: Level 3 Diploma and extended diploma in creative media production and technology course. This includes information such as the title of the course, the skills you can earn in the course and the aspects of media you will be studying. The style of the adverts appeal to the target audience. The advertisements were made in a simple and to the point way. They give the audience the information that would appeal to them clearly. The format would appeal to the target audience as the TV advert was filmed at a high resolution, and exported from Premier Pro at a high resolution. The cinema-graph was recorded at a high resolution, and exported from photoshop as a GIF. The radio advert was recorded at high quality and exported from Audition at a high quality. The high quality will appeal to the audience as if it was in a poor quality, they may find it distracting or off putting whilst watching or listening. The adverts were well produced as they were filmed with DSLR cameras at a 16:9 ratio, and exported from premier pro as an MPEG2 file. The radio advert was recorded as a .WAV and exported from Audition as an MP3.

I recorded the clips, wrote the dialogue and edited the cinemagraph, radio advert and tv adverts. I think I fulfilled the roles well. The recording of the clips for the adverts took less time than expected. A majority of the clips for the tv advert were recorded in one day, shorter than the estimated 3-4 days. This was because I recorded the clips during a workshop that took place over one day. The video for the cinema-graph took around an hour to record, less than the one day that I expected. The radio advert took around an hour to record, the same amount of time that I expected. I met the expectation of the client, which was to create a cinemagraph, radio advert and television advert that lasted 30 seconds. I also met the expectation of the target audience by creating advertisements that would be attractive to their age group.

During the production of the advertisements, I kept a production log that recorded what I was doing during the research, planning, filming and editing of the advertisements. I made the correct production decisions during the production of the advertisements, such as the clips that were used in the advertisement and the script that was used for the radio advert.  I listened to advice that I was given. After editing the radio advert, it was suggested to me to include the phone number of the college when advertising the course. I recorded somebody saying the telephone number and added it into the audition project. The adverts did not have a budget.
