CINEMATOGRAPHER

A cinematographer or director of photography is the chief of the camera and light crews working on a film. The cinematographer chooses the camera, film stock, filters and lenses. The cinematographer works closely with the director. Sometimes, the director will allow the cinematographer complete independence, and sometimes the director will allow no independence, telling the cinematographer the specific camera placement and lens selection. The director will convey to the cinematographer what is wanted for a scene visually.
